Yeast Diaper Rash Causes 


Diaper rash is not a single condition. There are several types of diaper rash. The most common type of diaper rash is caused by too much moisture, irritation, and prolonged contact with urine or feces. Usually wet skin is more easily damaged by friction from dry skin.

Humidity in a diaper caused by urine that makes the baby's skin is more susceptible to diaper rash by friction. This is why so rash often seen in the folds of the groin and upper thighs. 

Once the skin has been damaged, it is no longer a good natural barrier to infection. In this condition, the skin may be attacked by yeast (microorganisms) in feces and causes more severe cases and more durable than diaper rash.

  1. Irritation of the skin in direct contact with an allergen, so it appears erythema (redness of skin color). 
  2. Eruption on the contact areas that stand out, such as the buttocks, genitals, lower abdomen, or upper thigh. 
  3. On a more serious situation can occur erythematous papillae, vesicles, and ulceration.

How to prevent and treat Yeast Diaper Rash


  1. Rinse all baby clothes thoroughly to remove residual soap or detergent that can irritate baby's skin. 
  2. Rinse with clean water cloth diapers. Do not use fabric softener because it can cause skin reactions. 
  3. Use plastic or rubber diaper only when necessary, because it causes the baby's skin is more susceptible to moisture and make the rash worsened.
  4. Changing the diaper immediately after a wet or dirty. 
  5. Avoid tying the diaper too tight because it causes irritation on baby's skin. 
  6. Try the "bottom" of the body are more commonly affected infants exposure to air (without a diaper) to help heal the rash. 
  7. Do not wear clothing that is too thick for causing prickly heat. 
  8. Clean the "bottom" baby's body with warm water, using a wet cotton. Dry with a soft cloth and do not rub the rash. 
  9. Use in accordance with a prescription ointment. Apply a very thin it. Clean and dry each diaper change. 
  10. Keep the diaper is dry and not humid.
